My husband worked as a kindergarten teacher for several years and noticed, that the nursery rhyme cards they used were too small and did not contain any traditional Finnish rhymes. Based on that, we started to come up with ideas for better cards, that would be durable and would support children's language development. My husband collected the nursery rhymes and I illustrated both the cards and the packaging. I made the illustrations colorful and interesting, so that it is fun for the child to focus on the recited rhyme. We also designed the packaging together. After a couple tries, I chose synthetic plastic as the material, which is particularly resistant to bending and can also be wiped with water if the card gets dirty. The cards have been a success in my own circle, and have not yet ripped in the hands of my own little kid!
